You Are What You Eat

We have all heard it, but how many of us actually eat healthier because of it? I think of what I eat as fuel. Being an athlete, I wouldn’t want to have a tank full of junk that weighs me down or makes me feel anything but my best. Neither should you. Just as I use a higher-grade gasoline for my Corvette, I choose to use a higher-grade food for my body. We have one body, one life, and the to feed it well. Planning healthy meals can take some effort. I am on the go quite a bit, so meal plans can get tough depending on the day. Most days, I am up at 4am, knowing that I may not have a break until 12 or eat lunch until 2pm. I plan for those situations. In my house, some of my staples are: eggs, peppers, spinach/kale, beans, yogurt, fruit and of course, protein. With those, you can make so many good and healthy creations. I like to mix things up, but it does not bother me to eat the same thing twice in a week. Get creative with your food, add color, texture and change from the wrapper mode to slice and dice.

You do not have to be an athlete, trainer or even health fanatic to make a change in your daily food log. Give yourself 5 minutes to prep and plan before running out of the house in a frantic race. You are worth it. Your body deserves it. You are a wonderfully-made person who shouldn't settle for second best. For more ideas and tips connect with your trainer or myself, it’s easier than you may think.
